Basic Plant Care

If you are like me, and honestly that would be the only reason you are on this page, then caring for plants is not your forté. Personally I have the time, just no longer have the patience to do so. I give them water whenever I think on it and that’s about it. Sadly, they just keep dying on me.

However, I recently came across some basic tips that seem to help… A LOT! And I would like to share these. Now I am not saying that I suddenly have a green thumb. No where near that level. But they were significant enough that my plants seem to be doing very well.

The first is Baking Soda. You can do this in two ways. The first is you can sprinkle some baking soda around the soil of the plant(s). That way, each time you water them, a little bit dissolves and can get absorbed by the plant. It seems that plants like a slightly higher pH and this opens up the roots to absorb more water and nutrients out of the soil. You can also take a bottle or glass and mix the baking soda in with the water and then water the plant(s) with it.

The second great tip that I came across is to take a banana peel and let it soak in water for a day. Warning though, it will start to smell pretty funky by this time. I used a mixing cup of approx. 500ml and put the banana peel inside and filled to the top with water. Let sit for 24 hours. Afterwards you take the peel out and dispose. Use that water to water your plants. There are a lot of nutrients in there to make your plants very happy.

I can’t take credit for these tips, as I already mentioned. Find these and other great tips on this awesome video found on Facebook: https://fb.watch/1qlgfTrqi8/
